Owl's Spring/Summer 2016 collection is an exciting, fun-filled and colourful Spring/Summer collection inspired by an individual’s childhood memories. It delves deeper into the corruption of these innocent reminiscences by mass media propagandas and explores the exploitation of a child’s mind by the consumerist culture that surrounds our Post-Modern world. The collection is primarily based on the negative subliminal messages perceptible within children’s storybooks and fairytales that can affect them mentally, encouraging the audience to view the world from a child’s perspective. The print collection employs methodologies including hand drawings inspired by such children’s books as well as museums and exhibitions in London. The aim is to create fresh and thought-provoking prints that abstractly convey this important message across in an upbeat and positive way.
