Thompson Fetter

Trustee Emeritus

Thompson (Tom) Fetter has a long history of being active in small businesses, real estate, and nonprofit organizations, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biological science from Stanford, a MBA from Stanford Business School and a JD from the University of San Diego School of Law. He has been a Trustee of San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance since 1986 and served as President of the Board of Trustees from 2001 through 2003.

His business interests have covered gasoline stations, car washes, convenience stores, commercial real estate and various recreational marine businesses. He founded an RV dealership in 2009 and sold it to Camping World in 2023.

Tom has lived in San Diego since 1934. His continuing nonprofit relationships include the Bishop's School, the Fleet Science Center (past President), University of San Diego school of Law and the San Diego History Center (past Chairman).  He and his wife, Jane, have three adult children, all now in their ‘60’s.
